Mrs. M.L. DAVIS died last Thursday
at the home of her daughter Mrs. A. Ward DENNISON in Tazewell. She
was 92 years of age. Mrs. DAVIS was the former Miss Josephine NEAL
of Clintwood Va. With her late husband she had resided for many years at
Coeburn. During her illness she made her home with Mrs. DENNISON and
Mr. DENNISON. There survives two daughters, Mrs. DENNISON and
Mrs. G. T. WHITE, of Ravenna, Kentucky; a son, Grady NEAL of
Bondtown and a brother; Charlie NEAL, of Coeburn Va. Funeral services
were conducted Saturday morning from the Main Street Methodist Church with
the Rev. Clyde F. WATKINS, of Kingsport Tenn., a former pastor here,
officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. M. E. N. LINDSAY, pastor of
the Tazewell Christian Church. Burial was in Coeburn cemetery. The committal
services were conducted by the Rev. R.H. BALLARD. Peery and St. Clair
Funeral Home were in charge.
R. L. LAMBERT, 57 died Monday in a Richlands
hospital from a heart attack. Mr. LAMBERT had been a resident of
Richlands since 1929 and was born at Bandy, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John LAMBERT.
At the time of this death Mr. LAMBERT was owner and operator of
Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery at Richlands and the Richlands News Agency.
He served on term as a member of the Richlands Council, held membership in
the Richlands Methodist Church, was a member of Cedar Bluff Masonic Lodge,
the Kazim Temple of Roanoke and the Tazewell County Shrine Club. In addition
to his parents he is survived by his wife, the former Loy JAY; three
sons, Byron P. and Donald LAMBERT, both of Richlands and Robert of
Bowling Green; a brother Fred and the following sisters: Mrs. Vira WEST,
Mrs. Virginia BLACKBURN, Mrs. Bernice STEVENSON, all of Bandy;
Mrs. Nannie NISWANDER, Mrs Minnie SANDERS, both of Richlands,
and Mrs. India MOORE, of Kopperston WV. Funeral services were held at
2pm Wednesday in the First Methodist church in Richlands with the Rev. EM RITCHEY
officiating.
