Miss Dortha DeBoard was the dinner guest of Mrs. C. H. Robinette & Mr. and Mrs. David Robinette Tue evening.

Billie Simpson is still a patient in the Mattie Williams Hospital but his leg is improving now.

Mrs. Rex E. Steele of Bluefield Va. spent Sat. with Mrs. M.H. McGee.

Miss Mavis Elswick of here, accompanied Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Shelton and Estle and Misses Jackie and Billie Cunningham of Richlands, to visit Mr. and Mrs. John Shelton and family of Cucumber on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Tinsley had as guests on Sunday Mr. and Mrs. T. K. Smith and David, of Maxwell and Mrs. Frankie Jessie of Stuart Va.

Sgt. Robert Thacker and Mrs. Thacker and two children, who have been stationed at Camp Campbell, Ky for some time, moved their trailer here Sat. He has been called to go to Japan soon.

Mrs. C. H. Trayer and daughter Miss Peggy, spent the weekend in Abingdon, with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mogan.  


William Francis MOORE, age 75, died late Friday of a heart attack at his home in North Tazewell. He was the son of Sarah MUNDY and Spottswood MOORE. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Pentecostal Church at North Tazewell with the Rev. Roy MULLINS conducting the services, assisted by the Rev. H.H. PEEK and the Rev. William E. JELF. Burial was in Maple Cemetery. Mr. MOORE is survived by his wife, the former Miss Margaret Louise PATRICK; and six children, Mrs. Adrian Wood JAMESON and Mrs. Kermitt Marion JOHNSON, of Chicago; Mrs. George Henry LINKOUS and Mrs. Alderson MORRISON, Jr. of North Tazewell; Mrs. Fred KITTS and Mrs. Reinor WALLACE, of Bluefield Va.; one brother, S. A. MOORE of Bluefield; one sister, Miss Margaret SPENCE of North Tazewell. Active pallbearers were; Wiley TAYLOR, Audrey EDMONDS, Charles NOAKES, Clifford HANKINS, W.D. STARLING, Woodrow MYERS, Edward REMINES and Herbert PEEK.
